VICKERS VISCOUNT

$9.95

Titles: Vickers Viscount No’s 1 to 4

Another aircraft which resulted from the recommendations of the WW2 Brabrazon committee, the Viscount was in fact the most successful. When first flown in 1948 it was the world’s first purpose-designed turbo-prop transport, and went on to become the most successful British Civil Aircraft in terms of numbers sold. It was popular with passengers due to its pressurisation, lack of vibration and panoramic windows compared to the piston-engined aircraft it was replacing. When production ended in 1964, 445 had been built in two main series; the 700 series; and the 800 series which featured a slightly lengthened fuselage. It remained in widespread airline service throughout the 70’s and 80’s, the last examples being retired at the very end of the 90’s.

We offer four titles including flight manuals and manufacturer’s brochures covering several variants of the Viscount aircraft. Each title is US$9.95. The files have been scanned from the original manuals and retain any colour pages.
