Title: Grumman AF2 Guardian
The Grumman AF2 Guardian was the first purpose-built anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft system to enter service in the US Navy. It consisted of two airframes, the AF-2W carrying detection gear (the “Hunter”), and the AF-2S carrying weapons (“the Killer”).
The AF-2S entered service in 1950, followed by the AF-2W in 1952. A total of 389 examples of both variants were built. However they only remained in active service until 1955 when they were replaced by the S-2 Tracker, an airframe which combined both roles.
This title includes flight manuals covering both variants of the Grumman AF-2 Guardian. The files have been scanned from the original manuals and retain any colour pages.
