Titles: Consolidated B-24 Liberator Nos 1 to 6

Developed by Consolidated as a long-range bomber of similar size to the B-17, the B-24 was one of the most numerous US aircraft of WW2, over 18,000 examples of all variants being produced. The versions operated by the US Navy were known as the PB4Y, and the cargo variants were known as the C-87 and RY.

Aircraft supplied to England under the lend-lease program were known as Liberators. An early variant sold to the British as the Liberator II was designated LB-30.

We offer six titles for this aircraft, covering most variants of the B-24, LB-30, PB4Y, C-87 and RY. The files have been scanned from the original flight manuals and retain any colour pages uynless otherwise stated. Each title costs US$9.95.

Title 1 contains:

  • USAAF Pilot’s Handbook of Operation & Flight Instructions for the B-24 and B-24A, Technical Order No 01-5EA-1 dated 15-8-41 revised to 15-1-43, with approx. 54 pages. (The B-24A was the first production version but only 9 examples were procured, with another 20 being completed as LB-30B’s.)
  • USAAF Handbook of Operation & Flight Instructions for the B-24C and B-24D, Technical Order No 01-5EC-1 dated 7-3-42, with approx. 59 pages. (The B-24C was the second production version but only 9 examples were procured, the B-24D being the first series production version.)
  •  USAAF Service Instructions for the B-24C and B-24D, Technical Order No 01-5EC-2, dated 20-1-42 revised to 25-4-42 with approx. 351 pages.

Title 2 contains:

  • USAAF Pilot’s Flight Operating Instructions for the B-24D,E RB-24C, PB4Y-1 and British models Liberator BIII and BIV. Technical order No 01-5EC-1 dated 10-11-43, with approx. 96 pages.
  • USAAF Pilot’s Flight Operating Instructions for the B-24G,H,J,L and M, PB4Y-1 and British models Liberator GRVI and VIII. Technical order No 01-5EE-1 dated 30-11-44, revised to 25-3-45, with approx. 200 pages.
  • Pilot’s Guide for the PB4Y-1, produced by the USN Landplane Transition Unit, undated with approx. 89 pages.

Title 3 contains:

  • Manufacturers Pilot’s Notes for the Liberator II (LB-30), AP 1867B-PN dated 21-5-41, with approx. 52 pages.
  • Manufacturers Erection & Maintenance Manual for the Liberator II (LB-30), AP 1867B-Vol One dated 15-4-41, with approx. 270 pages.
  • RAF Flight Manual (titled “Pilot’s Notes”) for the Liberator III, V, VI, AP 1867C,F,G-PN 2nd Edition dated Feb 1944 with approx. 76 pages.

Title 4 contains:

  • Manufacturer’s Flight Manual for the B-24D, dated 15-9-42 with approx. 202 pages.
  • USAAF Pilot Training Manual for the B-24 series, dated Oct 1944 with approx. 262 pages.
  • Aircraft Profile No 19, covering the Consolidated B-24J Liberator dated 1965 with 12 pages.
