BREWSTER BUFFALO (F2A)

$9.95

Title: Brewster Buffalo (F2A)

The Brewster Buffalo was designed for the US Navy and was the first of the monoplanes with arrester gear etc for shipboard operation. In 1939 it won a US Navy contest against the Grumman F4F but in combat the aircraft’s limitations quickly became apparent and the type was relegated to the advanced training role.

The Buffalo was exported to several countries, including the UK who used them in the far east but found them overweight and uncompetitive against Japanese fighters. More success was enjoyed by Finland whose examples were lighter with the removal of naval equipment, and they enjoyed a high kill ratio against Soviet aircraft until they were largely replaced by Bf109G’s in 1943.

This title contains the RAF Pilot’s Notes (flight manual) and the RAF Air Publication Volume One – Descriptive & Servicing Manual for the Brewster Buffalo, along with the Aircraft Profile on the aircraft.
