Title: BAC 1-11 Vols 1 to 3

The BAC 1-11 was a British short-range airliner designed to replace the 1950’s turboprop Vickers Viscount. It was the first product from the merged British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) and first flew in August 1963. A total of 244 were eventually produced and it succeeded in sales in the US market despite US govt protectionism in favor of the competing DC-9 and 737 aircraft.

Production dwindled to a trickle from the late 1970’s, and was transferred to Romania in the early 1980’s. However only a handful of airframes were produced, mainly for Romanian operators. The aircraft was retired from airline service at the end of the 1990’s for noise reasons, and the type certificate was finally cancelled in 2010 by the then holder Airbus.

We offer three titles covering the BAC 1-11. The first contains the flight manual for the launch customer of the BAC 1-11, plus a detailed brochure and a pilots introductory handbook, the second contains the flight manuals used by American Airlines, and the third contains the flight manuals used by British Airways for the BAC 1-11 and the stretched Super 1-11. The files have been scanned from the original flight  manuals and retain any colour pages.

  • Manufacturers Crew Manual for the BAC 1-11 (American Airlines). Two volumes, Volume 1 – Description (approx. 359 pages) and Volume 2 – Handling (approx. 231 pages), Publication F/BAC111/AK dated Mar 1965.
  • American Airlines Operating Manual for the BAC 1-11, dated 1966 with approx. 323 pages..

Title 3 contains:

  • British Airways Operation Manual for the BAC 1-11. Two volumes, Volume 1 – Flying (Approved Technical Publication 2411 dated 1-4-91 with approx. 280 pages) and Volume 2 – Technical (ATP 2412 dated 28-9-88 with approx. 294 pages).
  • British Airways Operation Manual for the BAC Super 1-11. Two volumes, Volume 1 – Flight Management (ATP 871 dated May 1968 with approx. 206 pages) and Volume 2 – Technical (ATP 872 dated May 1968 with approx. 394 pages).
