Title: Hawker Hurricane
The famous Hawker Hurricane was designed by Sir Sidney Camm and first flew in 1935. The aircraft quickly surpassed expectations and performance estimates and was ordered into quantity production. Although often overshadowed by the more aesthetic Spitfire, the Hurricane was the backbone of the RAF during the Battle of Britain of 1940. Hurricanes accounted for more enemy kills than all other defences combined including all air and ground defences. The aircraft later served admirably in nearly every other war theatre in which the RAF participated.
Hurricane production expanded to include the Gloster Aircraft Company and licence production in Yugoslavia, Belgium and Canada. Over 14,000 were produced in total.
This title includes the flight manuals (titled Pilot’s Notes) for the RAF and RCAF versions of the Hurricane, has been scanned from the original flight manuals and retains any colour pages.
