Title: Boeing QSRA

The QSRA (Quiet Short-Haul Research Aircraft) was the last of several STOL research aircraft commissioned by NASA in the 1970’s. Based on a De Havilland Canada DHC-5 procured at no cost from another government agency, and using engines salvaged from YA-9 aircraft passed to NASA for research purposes, the aircraft was converted under a strict budget by Boeing Commercial Aircraft.

This title contains the flight manual for the Boeing QSRA plus three additional publications describing the aircraft and its manufacture. The files have been scanned from the original flight manuals and retain any colour pages.

Description

This title contains:

  • Boeing produced Operations (Flight) Manual for the QSRA, Boeing  document D340-13801 dated 22-11-78 with approx. 406 pages.
  • Very interesting Boeing produced colour brochure titled “Manufacturing Pictorial History” of the QSRA, undated with approx. 42 pages. Basically a photographic history of the build-up of the aircraft, starting with the arrival and dismantling of the stock C-8 aircraft, the manufacturing of the new wing and asssociated structure and systems, finishing with the first flight and delivery of the aircraft to NASA.
  • Boeing produced publicity brochure on the QSRA, publication 78813 dated Mar 78 with approx. 11 pages.
  • NASA Information Bulletin on the QSRA, undated with 10 pages.
