Title: Savoia-Marchetti S.55

The Savoia-Marchetti S.55 was a very successful Italian twin-hulled flying boat which first flew in 1924, and almost immediately began to set world records for speed, range, altitude and payload. The aircraft incorporated a number of innovative design features; the passengers and cargo were carrried in the hulls, while the crew sat in a thicker section of the wing between the hulls; the engines were canted upwards; and the tail structure was supported by two wire-braced booms.

The aircraft is most well-known for a number of long-distance flights. Initially flights were conducted between Europe and the Americas, and later Marshall Italo Balbo became famous for conducting multi-aircraft formation flights across the Atlantic. Over 240 examples were built.

This title includes the Italian Defence Ministry maintenance manual and parts manual for the S.55, in Italian along with a NACA descriptive circular. The files have been scanned from the original manuals and retain any colour pages.
