GLOSTER JAVELIN

Titles: Gloster Javelin No’s 1 to 4

The last aircraft produced by the Gloster Aircraft Company, the Javelin was designed in competition with the De Havilland DH110 as the RAF’s next high performance night fighter. The prototype first flew in 1951 and protracted flight testing took place until 1956 when the first production examples were delivered. Even then development continued apace and small numbers of various models were produced until the definitive FAW.7 variant was produced.

The FAW.7 was the first variant to actually meet the design specification, but even this was superseded in production by the FAW.8 in a short time. FAW.7’s were converted to FAW.8 configuration and re-designated FAW.9s. 435 airframes were produced in total, and the last example was withdrawn from operational service in 1968.

We offer four titles for the Gloster Javelin, covering all models and most editions of the Pilot’s Notes for the Javelin in RAF service. Each file has been scanned from the original flight manuals and retains any colour pages. Each title costs US$9.95.
